The Bible text, your favorites, notes and colors, your reading progress, your last reading position, and every app setting are stored on your device. Reading, listening to the text read aloud, searching, sharing verse images, daily verse notifications, and every other core feature work without an account and without an internet connection.
When the device is online, the app creates an anonymous identity with Firebase Authentication and stores a copy of the following in Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore), keyed only to that random identity:
The identity has no name, email address, phone number or profile. We cannot connect it to you as a person, and access rules restrict each backup to the identity that created it. The backup exists so that reinstalling the app or replacing a phone does not lose your notes; a future version may add optional Google sign-in to restore it on a new device, and this policy will be updated before that ships. To have your backup deleted, email [email protected] from the device or describe the device and approximate install date; we delete it within 30 days.
The free version shows ads served by Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, Google may collect your device's advertising ID, IP address, general device information and how you interact with ads. Whether ads are personalized depends on your region and your choices:
How Google uses this data is described at How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and in the Google Privacy Policy.
The app collects anonymous usage statistics with Google Analytics for Firebase: which screens and features are used (for example that a chapter was marked read or a verse was shared), the app version, device model and language, approximate location derived from a masked IP address, and whether Pro is active. It does not record the text of your notes or which verses you read. You can turn this off at any time under Profile → Privacy → Share anonymous usage stats.
When the app crashes, Firebase Crashlytics sends a crash report containing the technical stack trace, the app version, the device model and operating system version, and an installation identifier. Crash reports contain no reading content.
The daily verse notification is scheduled on your device from a built-in verse list; nothing about it leaves the phone. The app also registers with Firebase Cloud Messaging so we can occasionally send a short note from the developer; we do not store your push token ourselves. You can turn notifications off in the app or in Android settings.
Pro purchases and subscriptions are processed entirely by Google Play. We never see or store your payment details. The app keeps a record on your device of which product you own so it can hide ads and unlock Pro features, and it asks Google Play to confirm ownership when you reinstall. Purchases made in earlier versions of this app are honored automatically. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled in Google Play › Subscriptions.
If you send feedback from the app, your mail app opens with a draft addressed to us. The draft includes a short footer with the app version and your device model to help us find problems. You can delete those lines before sending; we keep feedback emails only as long as needed to answer them.
| Identifier | Who | Purpose |

| Advertising ID | Google AdMob, Google Analytics for Firebase | Serving and measuring ads; usage statistics. Resettable in device settings. |
| Anonymous Firebase user ID | Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore | Keys your backup. Random; no personal data attached. |
| Firebase installation ID | Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, Cloud Messaging | Distinguishes installs for statistics, crash grouping and notifications. |
| App-generated device ID | The app (stored in your backup) | Lets a backup hold settings for more than one device. |
We do not collect your name, email address, contacts, precise location, photos, or the content of other apps.
The only third party that receives data from this app is Google, through the services named above: AdMob, Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Analytics, Crashlytics, Cloud Messaging) and Google Play Billing. Their handling of data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy and the Firebase privacy and security notice. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with anyone else.
All data sent by the app travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). Backups are protected by access rules that allow only the anonymous identity that created a backup to read or change it. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot promise absolute security.
The app is intended for general audiences and is not directed at children under 13 (or the age of consent in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children; the app has no accounts and no profile. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, contact us and we will delete it.
If you are in the EEA or UK you have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection under data-protection law, and the right to complain to your supervisory authority. Our legal basis is consent for personalized advertising, and legitimate interest in providing a working, ad-supported free app for the rest. If you are a resident of California or another US state with a privacy law, the same email address serves your access and deletion requests; we do not sell personal information, and the ad choices above are how to opt out of personalized advertising.
When a future version changes what data is handled (for example optional Google sign-in for cross-device restore, or comments on the daily verse), this page is updated before that version ships, and the effective date above changes. Earlier versions of the app remain covered by the policy in force when they were released.
